Omanis Driving to Turkey Through Iraq Need Multiple-Entry Visa

Muscat: Omanis planning to travel to Türkiye by land through Iraq have been advised to secure a multiple-entry visa for Iraq. The Omani Embassy in Iraq has emphasized the importance of this requirement to prevent any travel disruptions.

In a recent statement, the embassy outlined the necessary visa process. Omani citizens can acquire the visa upon arrival at Iraqi land border crossings or through the embassy before departure. Stamping the visa in the passport is crucial as proof of entry and exit from Iraq.

Given that the same route will be used for both the outbound and return journeys, a multiple-entry visa is essential. This document permits repeated entry into Iraq for the duration of its validity.

It is important to note that in addition to the Iraqi visa, Omanis also require a Türkiye e-Visa to enter Turkish territory.

The embassy has urged all Omani travellers to review these visa requirements carefully to ensure a smooth journey.

Visa Requirements for Omanis Flying to Türkiye

Omanis travelling to Türkiye by air do not require a multiple-entry visa for Iraq as they will not enter the country's territory via land.

However, those planning to return to Oman via land through Iraq must secure an Iraqi visa.

The VisaGuide Passport Index indicates that Oman holds the 111th position globally regarding visa-free travel. Omani passport holders can visit 44 countries without a visa but require one for 116 destinations. Furthermore, an Electronic Travel Authorization is necessary to enter five countries, while an eVisa is required for 29 countries, including Türkiye.

Omanis intending to travel to Türkiye must carefully review the visa requirements to ensure a seamless journey.
